WestOne Cars is offering stranded travellers and disappointed holidaymakers a lifeline by providing a number of alternative travel options while the current Icelandic volcanic ash chaos continues. The passenger transport company, which holds the Royal Warrant, has been taking passengers from the UK to European destinations including Rome, Berlin and Valencia.
They are also working with their global network of partners to enable stranded travellers to get back to the UK. In addition to these more 'usual' jobs they have also provided a quote for a yacht as well as piston engine planes which are able to fly in these conditions.
Despite expectations that flights may well resume this week WestOne Cars expects to continue to support customers in this way for weeks to come. Even when flights do resume there will be a considerable backlog to clear as, according to travel agents association - Abta, 150,000 Britons are currently stranded abroad.
Andrew Bernard, Chief Executive of WestOne Cars comments; "As a passenger transport company we have relationships with a number of transport providers. This combined with our 'think on our feet' attitude has enabled us to respond quickly to this situation and offer customers realistic alternatives"
