Environment
WestOne Cars has adopted a number of environmentally friendly practices which we aim to continue to extend and enhance throughout our business. We hold the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental management systems accreditation. It specifies requirements for establishing an environmental policy, determining environmental aspects and impacts of services, planning environmental objectives and measurable targets, implementation and operation of programs to meet objectives and targets, checking and corrective action, and management review.
Environmentally Friendly Vehicles
As a business WestOne Cars recognises that our business practices have a considerable impact on the environment. In response to this we are continually searching for lower emissions or alternative vehicles for our passenger transport fleet.
Environmental Analysis and Reports
WestOne Car has developed an award winning environmental programme which enables us to work in partnership with our customers to provide analysis and reports based on the amount of carbon produced by using passenger transport services. We can also provide advice on how you could reduce the amount of emissions by selecting an alternative vehicle.
Carbon Offset Programme
WestOne Cars' Carbon Offset Programme allows customers to choose to have a retrospective surcharge applied to those jobs that use a carbon producing vehicle via our Environmental Support Fund. Any monies generated are invested by us with an approved Carbon Offset Company.
Offset Programmes available include:

Environmentally Friendly Service
WestOne Cars has introduced the Toyota Prius to its fleet of vehicles. The Prius uses the revolutionary Hybrid Synergy Drive system; a combination of an electric motor and a petrol engine. As a result the Prius has lower emissions than any other car in its class and is 90% recyclable.
Recycling
At our WestOne Cars ServiceCentre in London we recycle all office waste paper, printer cartridges and most waste plastics.
Electronic Communications
Electronic communication is environmentally friendly and doesn't use paper or ink and uses little energy. Where possible, WestOne Cars has an ongoing programme of obtaining customers email addresses to advise customers of key initiatives and send electronic invoices, thus negating the need for paper based communications.
Website
WestOne Cars OnLine is our web based passenger transport booking, tracking, reporting and financial information system.
Our system enables customers to apply for an account, book jobs, track the real time map position of the driver and vehicle via CarLocator, view and download comprehensive activity reports and view invoices electronically which reduces the consumption of paper, inks and reduces emissions, both by WestOne Cars and our customers.
Purchasing
We are keen to purchase and to print materials on paper that is either recycled or that is accredited as being from stock that adheres to strict controls over waste water quality and air pollution during manufacture. We will continue to identify opportunities to purchase environmentally friendly paper and stationery.
