The CitySprint Group has acquired Burgundy Cars. The Group, comprising CitySprint the UK’s largest SameDay Courier network and WestOne Cars, has in the past five years grown its business at an average compound growth rate of 10% per annum. This double digit growth has been achieved by focussing on professionalism, high levels of service and being the best within the sectors it operates. This latest acquisition further establishes the Group as a major business services provider and will see annualised revenues increase to £70 million. In particular the acquisition will further strengthen the Group’s passenger transport business. WestOne Cars has experienced a 32 per cent growth in the past year. This acquisition will see the Group’s passenger transport business develop to a national business with links to a global network of partners. The Group will take over Burgundy’s locations in Central London, Heathrow, and Manchester, and creates a platform for further locations. Burgundy’s Client Director David Dennis and General Manager Paul Spillman will remain at the business. Andrew Bernard, Chief Executive of the Group said:”This is an exciting development for us as it further strengthens our passenger transport business and also enables us to offer global integrated travel solutions to our clients. Our Group has achieved considerable growth in the past year and we aim to continue to develop the businesses through organic growth and carefully selected acquisitions, such as this one. Burgundy provided an ideal fit to our existing business as it enables us to further enhance our already successful London business, WestOne Cars, and also increase our national coverage considerably. The coming together of the Burgundy Cars and WestOne cars brands provides an exciting opportunity for the Group and will enable us to work in partnership with our clients for all their transport requirements.” |
